Today is the first day of lesson proper, all thanks to the people in the campus that has made our living space so nice and comfortable to live in that we can have a good rest at night and feel refreshed in the morning!
Having lesson in a completely new and unfamiliar place is a challenge to many people I guess… but fortunately for me I was actually energised by the fact that I am no longer studying in Singapore but in another foreign country! I enjoyed myself during the lesson on Business Process Engineering conducted by our dear Mr Puah. He gave us a very interesting and practical over view of this module that we will be studying for during this stay.
After the lessons we decided to go to ‘Zhong Shan Gong Yuan’ which is so called the orchard road of Wuhan. As all the 20 of us wanted to go to this place, we decided to take a bus together as taking taxi is going to expensive for all of us. Thanks to our IS teacher Xiao Ling Lao Shi, she helped us to find out what bus to take and where are the fun places around Zhong Shan Lu.
When we reached the Zhong Shan Gong Yuan, we didn’t expect it to be a theme park where there are rides like the Viking, roller coaster and many more others. Some of us decided to try the roller coaster and test out their guts! For me I decided to be the audience to watch them scream their lungs out, but thankfully that everyone enjoyed themselves with that ride and no one is hurt or feeling unwell after the ride. After which when we approach the Viking ship ride, I decided to pick up the courage to try it out and thank God It was not as scary as I thought it would be!
I guess Chinese people in China are not as backwater as I once thought; they do have the thought of having fun and enjoy themselves. I think I am have always been influence by the television programmes that I watched in Singapore and things I read on the internet about Chinese in China, now as I am living in their community I felt that we are not that different after all. I hope for the rest of my stay in China Wuhan, I will be able to understand and find out the culture of Wuhan Chinese in China and thus truly understand what their culture is really like and how different is it different from us Singaporeans!
Thanks for the guide and fun time we had today to our two new found friends in China, Li Xuan and friend! Thanks! =)
